From September 2014, all infant age pupils are able to receive a school meal at no cost to the parent/guardian under the introduction of the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme. School meals at our school are healthy, tasty, social and fun and for a full academic year, choosing a school lunch for your child/children will help save you up to £400 per child if you take up the offer.
Meat and vegetarian options are available every day and we can cater for children who have other dietary requirements where a menu is agreed in advance. This can include religious, cultural or allergy and/or intolerance diets. If your child has special dietary requirements, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting with the school caterer.
Our hot meals are provided by Surrey Commercial Services (SCS) and the menus can be viewed via the SCS website www.myschoollunch.co.uk/surrey The nutritional values for all the food provided by SCS are calculated very carefully to ensure the meals reach the current Foods in Schools Standard.
If you choose not to take the offer of a free school lunch, your child can of course bring a packed lunch from home. The school is committed to encouraging parents to provide healthy packed lunches. The school's policy is that lunch boxes should not contain nuts, as we have pupils with severe nut allergies, fizzy drinks or sweets.
We ask that children have either hot meals or packed lunches for a whole week at a time and if you want your child to change, then you need to inform the class teacher.
If your child is entitled to Free School Meals as a result of qualifying income related benefits and therefore additional funding under the Pupil Premium scheme (or you think they may be eligible), please complete the form below and return it to the school office. The criteria for eligibility is on page 2 of the form.
